I was looking through my documents yesterday and I found this poster. This was my very first designing experience. It was an assignment in my visual media class a year ago to make up a fundraiser and company. I designed it in Microsoft Word and used a scanned image.
The title makes me laugh... I don't know what I was thinking...cheesy!

My parents and I took four-wheeling/ hiking trip to Mackay, Idaho a few weeks ago. I was a lot of fun! I was hoping to see some pretty fall colors, but it wasn't quite at that point yet. But the mountains and green fields were very pretty.

Canning Peaches!

I got a Canon xsi last week. I love it! I've been using it constantly. I've been practicing a lot and there is still so much to learn.

I helped my mom, ok mostly just watched my mom can peaches yesterday. It was a long process but I love peaches so I was excited to eat them.

This was actually my first scan. I was just testing out the scanner so I grabbed a bunch of random little things sitting next to the scanner and I actually liked how it turned out.

I used three different scans to create this. I blended them in photoshop and added the border. I wanted to create a girly masquerade look, so I had lots of fun with this.

This picture was a lot of fun to make. I cropped the background and boosted the colors. Then I cut Rigo and the balloon out and put them in the sky. Then I just added my logo.

It was such a nice day, I took advantage of it all day and we played with chalk. We had lots of fun coloring sidewalks, this was something I drew.

I boosted the colors with saturation and vibrance levels, then I used the thick paint brushes to create an interesting border.

The whole weekend was very rainy, but the rain stopped for a few minutes so I took up the opportunity to take some shots. I had a lot of fun taking pictures of my brother and his wife.

My roommates and I were taking a walk around Rexburg and down by a canal there were some really pretty, green plants. I thought this dandelion looked really neat.

I really liked the natural green color, so I didn't do any editing to this shot.

I went to support some friends at a flag football game. It was really hard to take action shots because the lights weren't bright enough. I thought this blurred effect turned out cool though.

Wednesday was such a pretty day. It was sunny and nice. The splash park opened recently, hopefully the summer will come soon!

I opened this image in camera raw and changed the lighting and added a vignette. In photoshop I used the high pass filter to make the image sharper and erased the skin to keep it smooth. I also lightened the red in her eyes.

In camera raw, I changed the light and vibrance. I really liked the yellow brick that matched with her shirt so I enhanced the colors a little bit. In photoshop I made her eyes sharper than her skin.

I opened this image with camera raw and played with the lighting but didn't really like what it looked like, so I just added the vignette. Then in Photoshop I enhanced the main girl's eyes and teeth.

I took this picture into Bridge and opened it in camera raw. I decided I didn't like any of the lighting changes so I just added a little vignette. In photoshop I added a gaussian blur. Then I edited her eyes using the high pass filter.

In the ghost town Bannack, Montana, I had lots of fun taking pictures all day, getting a ton of experience with the camera and getting closer to all my classmates.

Kristen was such a fun person to shoot with. She volunteered herself to take off her boots and put her feet in the cold water. What a sport!

I took three different photos at different exposures on a tripod and the HDR Dynamic Photo combines all the best parts of the images together. I love this picture because I feel like it perfectly exemplifies a ghost town.

We found a really neat place near St. Anthony with these pretty falls. I guess it is a really fun swim hole in the late summer. The locals call it bubble land.

This past weekend was the first with really great weather. Some of my family was up for a couple days and we decided to take advantage of the sunshine while we could. So we made a trip out to Monkey Rock. The water was way too cold for any of us to even keep our feet in for very long, but my cousin's little girl LOVED it! She would've kept playing all day if her mom would've let her.

I got this fun shot of her grabbing rocks to throw into the water.

I opened the original image in Bridge to convert it to a raw photograph. Then I played with the fill light, exposure, vibrance to make the light look more natural. I also lowered the clarity because I liked how it made everything glow a little bit more.

I took this picture at the zoo. I loved the color of this bird! I was a lot of fun seeing all the exotic animals.

I used the texture on the grass to make it look like a cracked wall. I also used the drybrush effect lightly on the peacocks tail to give a soft, painted look. I masked out the head, body, and legs of the peacock.

This was the first picture of the day I took and turned out to be my favorite!

I used fresco smart filter and masked out the flowers and used a more gentle opacity around to make a glowing effect.

Going to the Zoo!

Saturday was the perfect day to be outside. My roommates and I decided to take a trip to the zoo. It was overcast when we first got there, but a couple hours later the sun came out and it was beautiful.

We had so much fun, we were more excited than the little kids when we saw our favorite animals.

This tree was just blossoming and was really pretty, I decided to get a really closeup shot of the flowers. It makes me really excited for spring and summer.

I adjusted the levels, saturation and vibrance slightly. I also added the Guassian blur for a more dramatic shot.

I took this picture earlier in the day, and a chilly breeze was blowing. The Pelicans must've been cold because they would curl up and tuck in their beaks.

I cropped this picture a little bit to make the bird and water more of a focal point. I also adjusted the levels to make more contrast.

These goats were so much fun. The babies were adorable! They would take turns sucking on our fingers, and one of the bigger goats sneezed all over me. Gross!

I thought this one was funny. He just stood on his little stump the whole time.

To edit this picture, I cropped it, sharpened the photo, then added saturation. Then I decided to add Guassian blur to add more focus on the goat.
